Sneaky aren’t we? We write all these blog posts and spend all that time interacting with our readers and other bloggers on all those social networking sites just to get everyone to eventually come to this page right here. This is where we sell out. Yep, that’s us. You finally figured it out. We’re in it for the money.
Disclaimer: Our site does include affiliate links and as required by the FTC this notice is to alert you to the fact that if you buy something as a result of clicking on a link on this site we might get paid money which we will likely spend on fruit at a roadside stand.
When you purchase a product we review or use our Amazon Affiliate Link it’s like you’re saying, “thanks, guys, I appreciate what you do.”
Each of these affiliates are hand-picked. These are products and services we’ve used. And they’re items we actually think would be of interest to a person who reads a family travel blog. We’ve shared some brief descriptions below and in some cases we have also included links to more elaborate reviews we have posted on this site. There’s no one-size-fits-all product out there–each person has their own set of priorities and needs. But if you’ve identified with our approach to family life and family travel there’s a good chance you’re going to like some of the items we suggest here!
If you make a purchase…. we’d love to hear from you! Submit your product reviews or videos for us to post to the Family Trek YouTube Channel.

| Everyone wants to take great pictures of their kids. Some of the other family travel bloggers we like to follow inspired us to take our photography to the next level. One of the key components of that process was buying this eBook. It’s full of great stuff! We really like the emphasis on documenting your child’s story and personality. You can check out Monica’s full review of the eBook HERE. | We love MixBook. Really can’t be too emphatic here. We first used MixBook when we were on our 6-month trip across the United States. We knew that if we did not chronicle our journey along the way that it would feel like too arduous a task when we got home. MixBook allows you to create a digital scrapbook. It has digital “stickers” and other embellishments like a traditional scrapbook. But you do it all online. When you’re done you can order an actual copy of the book. These are great for documenting trips and seasons of life. You can check out Monica’s full review HERE. We also have another MixBook related post which we published in honor of National Scrapbooking Day. Check that one out HERE. |

| Ever come home from a great trip and start looking through your photos only to see a bunch of duds. Yep, us to. This book comes from the same publisher as Click. We loved Click so much we decided to buy this book too. It’s been great for helping us improve our travel photography. Highly recommend it! | We love Hotel.com. I mean we love it. Before you dismiss us because you’ve seen a million ads for them and you have a different approach, let me ask you how you’d like to stay at a luxurious hotel for free? We book all our hotels through them and we stay on the cheap. Hardly spending over $100 on any hotel. We build them up and when we book 10 nights we get one free night at any hotel available on Hotels.com. We took our first free night at Shutters in Santa Monica which typically goes around $400 a night. Just something to think about. We are about to book another free night and often use these excursions as romantic getaways without the kids. |

| Ok, ok… we all LOVE our kids. We LOVE family travel. But adults only time is important too. If you are visiting a new place this is your solution for adult time. Far cheaper than the hotel’s service and just as dependable. Pay one fee for the year and get access sitters, nanny, pet sitter, elderly care, and tutors for the whole year. Check out Monica’s post Adult Time on Family Vacations | Little Passports and Zoo Books are two of our favorite gifts to give to other kids in our life. Both encourage a curiosity with the world around us. Little Passports is especially great for exposing kids to different cultures. Monica has two posts on Little Passports: An Affordable Resource to Give Your Kids the World from Home and Travel Educational Tools. Travel Educational Tools. Why Zoo Books? Don’t all kids love animals? This is a fun and easy way to turn your kids love of animals into a love for reading. Great alternative to another toy that will be in the back of the closet in a week and in the give away or trash pile in a few months. |
